Snow plummets itself

off our roof

like sacks of flour

PLOP, PLOP, PLOP

While the white stuff

shakes itself from the sky

a la parmesean.

Sauce anyone?

world.

Hourly avalanches

off the roof.

Snow

breast-high

filling our view

at the French doors

like a glass of milk.

Having land is like being pregnant.

“I walked your land the other day,” friends say, like taking the liberty of touching your belly.

It’s too late (and equally awkward) to respond, “No, don’t.”

Like a baby, land belongs to everyone.
